Cookies Policy
Last updated: 4 October 2026
1. What are cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. We also use similar browser storage (such as local storage) for some preferences.
This Next.js site does not use legacy Base44 authentication cookies.
2. How we use cookies
2.1 Essential cookies and storage (always active)
- Sign-in: the
rep_sessioncookie after you complete magic-link login - Security and hosting: short-lived cookies or tokens from our host (Vercel) to deliver the site safely
- Cookie notice: local storage key
cookies-acceptedwhen you dismiss the cookie notice
2.2 We do not use
- Analytics cookies (including Google Analytics). Our host may record cookieless, aggregate page-view and performance statistics, which do not use cookies.
- Advertising or third-party marketing cookies on this site
- Social media tracking pixels (unless explicitly embedded in content you choose to view)
3. Cookies and storage we set
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Expiry | Type |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| rep_session | PoliceStationRepUK | Keeps you signed in after magic-link login (representative account or admin session) | Up to 7 days (representative) or 1 hour (admin), httpOnly | Essential |
| cookies-accepted | PoliceStationRepUK (local storage) | Remembers that you have dismissed the cookie notice on this device | Until you clear site data or use Manage cookies in the footer | Essential preference |
| Vercel / edge security | Vercel | Hosting, routing and bot or abuse protection at the edge | Session or short-lived | Essential |
| Cloudflare Turnstile | Cloudflare | Bot and abuse check on some forms (only on pages with those forms) | Session or short-lived | Essential |
4. Managing your preferences
When you first visit, a notice explains that we use essential cookies only. Click OK to dismiss it, or Manage to read this policy. Because we only use essential cookies and storage, there is nothing optional to switch on or off. You can clear the notice choice by removing site data in your browser or using the cookie settings option in the site footer.
Blocking essential cookies may prevent you from staying signed in.
5. Third-party cookies on payment pages
If you buy a featured listing, Lemon Squeezy's checkout may set its own essential and fraud-prevention cookies on their payment domain. Those cookies are controlled by Lemon Squeezy under their privacy policy.
